AMD, the No. 2 maker of chips for personal computers behind Intel, is now supplying chips for Dell's line of desktop PCs sold to business customers, according to Dell's Web site. On Tuesday, Dell started offering AMD's Athlon 64 X2 dual-core microprocessors in desktop PCs aimed at medium and large businesses. Dell, the top seller of PCs in the U.S. and No. 2 worldwide behind Hewlett-Packard Co., is selling the machines as part of a redesigned family of Optiplex business desktops.
